Therapeutical effect of Huang'e capsule on bladder dysfunction after radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer
Objective To explore the clinical effect of Huang'e capsule in treatment of bladder dysfunction after rad-ical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.Methods A total of 108 patients with prostate cancer undergoing laparoscopic rad-ical prostatectomy were selected and randomly divided into the control group(54 cases)and observation group(54 cases).In the control group,routine antibiotics were administered postoperatively for infection prevention,and rehabilitation train-ing was conducted.In the observation group,in addition to the measures taken in the control group,Huang'e capsules were administered for a treatment course of 42 days.Spasm and pain during hospitalization were observed in both groups.After completing the course,urodynamic parameters including maximum urine flow rate,bladder compliance,maximum detrusor pressure,and maximum urethral pressure were measured using a urodynamic examination device.The Interna-tional Continence Society(ICS)questionnaire was used to assess urinary control,the Short Form 36(SF-36)question-naire was employed to evaluate the quality of life before and after treatment,and the Chinese version of Strategies Used by People to Promote Health(C-SUPPH)was used to assess self-management efficacy.Results Compared with the control group,patients in the observation group experienced a reduction in spasm pain intensity,decreased spasm frequency,and reduced duration of pain during hospitalization(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group,after 42 days of treat-ment,the maximum urine flow rate,bladder compliance,maximum detrusor pressure,and maximum urethral pressure in-creased,the urinary control grading was better,and SF-36 scores,C-SUPPH dimension scores,and total scores were high-er in the observation group than in the control group,with statistically significant differences(all P<0.05).Conclusions Huang'e capsules have a certain therapeutic effect on bladder dysfunction after radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.They can reduce postoperative bladder spasms,improve urinary control and urodynamic parameters,and enhance the qual-ity of life for patients.
