Expression changes of LRRC15 and SUN2 in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues and their relationships with prognosis of patients
Objective To analyze the expression changes of leucine-rich repeat containing 15(LRRC15)and Sad1 and UNC84 domain protein 2(SUN2)in epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)tissues and to investigate their relationships with the prognosis of patients.Methods Totally 102 cases of cancer tissues resected from patients with EOC were selected as the observation group,and 60 cases of normal ovarian tissues from patients who underwent surgical treatment due to benign ovarian cysts were used as the control group.The expression levels of LRRC15 and SUN2 in the cancer and normal ovarian tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.The correlation between the expression levels of LRRC15 and SUN2 was evaluated by Spearman rank correlation.The relationships between the expression levels of LRRC15 and SUN2 and the prognosis of patients with EOC were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox regression analysis.Results The positive rate of LRRC15 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the positive rate of SUN2 was lower than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(both P<0.05).In the observation group,the expres-sion of LRRC15 was negatively correlated with the expression of SUN2(r=-0.634,P<0.05).The positive rate of LR-RC15 in EOC patients with FIGO stage Ⅲ and lymph node metastasis was higher than that in cancer tissues with FIGO stag-es Ⅰ-Ⅱ and without lymph node metastasis,and the positive rate of SUN2 in EOC patients with FIGO stage Ⅲ and lymph node metastasis was lower than that in cancer tissues with FIGO stages Ⅰ-Ⅱ and without lymph node metastasis,with statis-tically significant differences(all P<0.05).The 3-year overall survival rate of EOC patients in the LRRC15 positive group was lower than that in the LRRC15 negative group,and the 3-year overall survival rate of EOC patients in the SUN2 negative group was lower than that in the SUN2 positive group,with statistically significant differences(all P<0.05).FIGO stage Ⅲ,pathological grade Ⅲ,lymph node metastasis,and positive LRRC15 were risk factors for the prognosis of EOC patients,and positive SUN2 was a protective factor.Conclusions The expression level of LRRC15 increases and the expression level of SUN2 decreases in the cancer tissues of EOC patients.The expression levels of LRRC15 and SUN2 are related to the tu-mor progression of EOC.Detection of the levels of the two is helpful for evaluating the prognosis of EOC patients.
