Identification of volatile ingredients in ethyl acetate, petroleum ether and chloroform extracts of Cremastra appendiculata
Objective To identify the volatile ingredients in ethyl acetate, petroleum ether and chloroform extracts of Cremastra appendiculata. Methods Three kilograms of Cremastra appendiculata were processed into powder and ex-tracted with ethyl acetate, petroleum ether and chloroform, respectively. The volatile ingredients in ethyl acetate extract, petroleum ether extract and chloroform extract were analyzed and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Results Fifty-one ingredients were identified from the ethyl acetate extract of Cremastra appendiculata, with the highest content of catechol, followed by 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde,2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine,Phenol,4-(ethoxymethyl)-,cinnamic acid,m-hydroxybenzoic acid,etc.Thirty-five ingredients were identified from the petroleum ether extract of Cremastra appendiculata, including cinnamic acid, butyl palmitate, methyl heptadecanoate, oleic acid, linoleic acid,etc.Twenty-eight ingredients were identified from the chloroform extract of Cremastra appendiculata, including Phenol,4-(eth-oxymethyl)-,2,6-dimethoxyphenol,2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine,cinnamic acid, etc. Conclusion Cinnamic acid was found in the volatile ingredients of ethyl acetate, petroleum ether and chloroform extracts of Cremastra appendiculata.Anti-cancer ingredients such as vanillic acid,m-hydroxybenzoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde were found in the ethyl acetate extract of Cremastra appendiculata.Catechol,2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine,Phenol,3-methylcyclopentane-1,2-dione,meth-ylcyclopentenolone,butyl palmitate, methyl heptadecanoate, oleic acid, linoleic acid,2,6-dimethoxyphenol,2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine and other ingredients were found in different extracts of Cremastra appendiculata for the first time.
