Impact of Digital Financial Inclusion on the Income Gap Within Rural Areas
By utilizing panel data encompassing 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020,alongside the Gini coefficient as a measure of China's rural income disparity, this study investigates the influence of digital financial inclusion on the internal rural income gap.The research findings indicate that digital financial inclusion has a significant potential to reduce the internal rural income gap on the whole. And when examining digital financial inclusion from the single-dimensional perspective, both the breadth of coverage index and the depth of utilization index demonstrate a notable capability in diminishing the internal rural income gap.Additionally, government expenditure on agricultural support and the level of urbanization exhibit a convergence effect on reducing the internal rural income gap.To effectively narrow the internal rural income gap,it is crucial to not only focus on the development of digital financial inclusion, but also consider the impact of other factors.
