The cultural industry is a pillar industry of the national economy, playing a huge role in regional economic growth. In recent years, under the guidance of the state, local governments have introduced a series of policies to increase the input of cultural industry elements and actively promote the development of the cultural industry in the southwestern region, which is rich in cultural resources. This paper collects the panel data of Chongqing,Sichuan,Guizhou,Yunnan and Xizang Autonomous Region from 2010 to 2019,and establishes an econometric model based on Romer's economic growth theory to explore the correlation between the input of cultural industry factors and regional economic growth, aiming to provide experience and reference for the implementation of local government's cultural industry policies. The results indicate that the increase in cultural industry expenses and added value has a significant promoting effect on local economic growth, and the increase in the number of cultural industry institutions will to some extent inhibit local economic growth.
