Research on the Influencing Factors of the Development of County Digital Villages in China
Based on the non-equilibrium panel data of counties in China from 2018 to 2020,a bidirectional fixed-effect model is adopted to explore the effects of five factors on the development of digital villages, including economic development level, local population size, human capital level, government financial capacity and county savings rate. The findings are as follows.Firstly, the level of economic development, the number of local population, the financial capacity of the government and the savings rate of the county have a significant positive effect on the development of China's county digital villages, and the effects are as follows in descending order:the number of local population, the level of economic development, the savings rate of the county and the financial capacity of the government.Secondly, the level of local economic development and the number of population have a greater positive effect on the counties with better digital rural development, while the positive effect of county savings rate has a small decrease.Thirdly, for the counties with relatively poor development of digital villages,in addition to the level of local economic development and population, the financial capacity of the local government also has a greater positive effect on them.
