数智城市建设与人工智能创新

文章将人工智能创新发展试验区视为数智城市建设的准自然实验,利用 2015-2021 年中国 247 个地级市面板数据,采用多期双重差分法实证检验数智城市建设对人工智能创新的影响.研究发现,数智城市建设显著提升了人工智能创新质量,促进了合作创新,并增加了创新数量.作用机制分析表明,数智城市建设通过提供创新激励、促进金融科技集聚和人才集聚提升城市的人工智能创新水平.对于中西部地区、知识产权保护程度较高城市、创业环境良好城市及地理距离小于平均球面距离的城市,数智城市建设的创新效应更加显著.研究丰富了"国家新一代人工智能创新发展试验区"的创新效应研究,对推动城市高质量发展具有重要的参考价值.
Digital Intelligent City Construction and Artificial Intelligence Innovation
Considering the pilot zone for the innovative development of artificial intelligence as a quasi-natural experiment for digital intelligent city construction,we empirically investigate the impact of digital intelligent city construction on artificial intelligence(AI)innovation using staggered difference-in-difference model with panel data from 247 cities in China from 2015 to 2021.The results show that digital intelligent city construction significantly enhances the quality of AI innovation,fosters collaborative innovation,and increases the quantity of innovations.Mechanism analysis reveals that digital intelligent city construction elevates the level of AI innovation by providing innovation incentives,promoting fintech clustering,and attracting talent clusters.The innovation effect of digital intelligent city construction is particularly pronounced in cities located in the central and western regions,with a higher degree of intellectual property protection,a favorable entrepreneurial environment,and a geographic distance smaller than the average spherical distance.The study enriches the research on the innovation effect of the"National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Development Pilot Zone"and provides valuable insights for promoting high-quality urban development.
