This paper discusses the conditions for the formation of new quality productive forces from the perspective of the new"close"and"clean"government-business relationship,and uses the data of more than 290 prefecture-level cities(municipalities)in China from 2017 to 2021 as samples to analyze the relationship between the new"close"and"clean"government-business relationship and regional new quality productive forces.The results of theoretical and empirical analysis are as follows.The establishment of the new"close"and"clean"government-business relationship can enhance market vitality and provide a good environment for the formation and development of new quality productive forces.The establishment of the new"close"and"clean"government-business relationship can promote the formation of new quality productive forces,and the promotion effect is more obvious in the areas with high economic development level and low urbanization level.Close government-business relationship has no significant effect on the development of the new quality productive forces,while the improvement of the clean government-business relationship will significantly promote the development of regional new quality productive forces.
