This paper takes the Laoshan Scenic Area in Qingdao as an example and adopts the conditional value method to assess the non-use value of its tourism resources.The assessment results show that the non-use value of Laoshan Scenic Area is as high as RMB 3 064 192 200 as of 2023,which highlights the importance of tourism resource development and protection.By analysing the respondents'motivation to pay and ranking their preference for the non-use value,the existence value,heritage value and choice value of Laoshan Scenic Area are further derived to be RMB 1 540 675 800,RMB 922 628 300 and RMB 600 888 100,respectively.Based on this,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions,aiming to provide guidance for the development of non-use value,environmental management and tourism resource protection in Laoshan Scenic Area.
