Evaluation of Uncertainty in the Determination of Soluble Lead,Cadmium, and Chromium Content in Paint Coatings by Flame Atomic Absorption Apectrometry
This article tests the soluble content of lead, cadmium, and chromium in paint coatings using ASTM F963 Consumer Safety Specification-Method for Dissolving Soluble Substances in Toy Safety Surface Coatings. The sources of uncertainty introduced in the experiment are analyzed, including the uncertainty introduced in the determination of solvent volume, test solution concentration, and sample weighing process. The main source of uncertainty is the uncertainty introduced in the determination of test solution concentration. The results can provide a reference for quality control of using flame atomic absorption method to determine the soluble lead, cadmium, and chromium content in paint coatings.
