A Gas Chromatography-mass Spectrometry Method for the Determination of Piperazine in Water Quality
A method for the determination of piperazine in water by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)was developed.The piperazine was successfully derivatized with pentafluorobenzoyl chloride under the conditions of pH 9.5 and 60℃,and the derivative was extracted with ethyl acetate and detected by GC-MS with the recoveries ranging from 93.5%to 106%.The linear range was from 20 ng/mL to 2560 ng/mL with a correlation coefficient of 0.999,the limit of detection(LOD)was 6 μg/L(S/N=3)and the limit of quantification(LOQ)was 20 μg/L(S/N=10).
