Management of Tritium Standard Substances in Radiation Environment Monitoring Laboratories
Tritium is a typical low toxicity and radioactive element. After invading the human body,it can undergo isotope exchange reactions with hydrogen, which can penetrate into the human body and produce biological radiation effects.During radiation monitoring,it will be released into the environment, posing internal radiation hazards to the human body.In the process of radiation environment monitoring, standard materials are widely used for calibration of measuring instruments and evaluation of measurement methods. This article briefly introduces the properties of tritium, explores the establishment of reference materials, their preservation and use, verification, intermediate verification, and disposal,as well as the management of tritium reference materials in radiation environment monitoring laboratories.
