Preparation and Characterization of PTFE Modified Superhydrophobic PDMS Coating for Architectural Decoration
Superhydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane PDMS coating was prepared by a simple,fluorine-free and low-cost process using carbon steel as test material. The superhydrophobic surface of PDMS coating was modified by polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE,and its microstructure and self-cleaning were analyzed by means of experimental test. The results show that the surface of PDMS coating becomes more rough after PTFE modification, and many micron particles form a uniform covering state on the surface. The superhydrophobic coating formed a diffraction peak of the PTFE alkyl group and produced a polytetrafluoroethylene salt. The superhydrophobic surface of carbon steel is highly efficient and self-cleaning,and its layered structure can retain air,cut off contact with pollutants, and inhibit the spread of water droplets on the surface.
