A method for the determination of cyanide in water quality was established by using Hash QC8500 flow injection analyzer. The results showed that the flow injection method was used to determine the content of cyanide in water quality. The linear relationship between the mass concentration of the standard series and the peak height and peak area was good, and the accuracy and precision were high. The calculated lower limit(4MDL,mg/L)for cyanide determination is 0.0007536 mg/L,which is lower than the lower limit of 0.002 mg/L for cyanide determination in GB/T 5750.5-20237.3 flow injection method, and far below the limit of 0.05 mg/L for cyanide in GB 5749-2022 Hygienic Standards for Drinking Water. The spiked recovery test was conducted on the factory water, pipeline water, peripheral water, and secondary water supply. The overall spiked recovery rate ranged from 95.01%to 101.74%,within the standard range of 80%to 120%.This indicates that the method has a high recovery rate for detecting cyanide under the experimental conditions, which meets the quality control requirements.Compared with multiple detection methods, the flow injection method has fast detection speed, high accuracy, good reproducibility, low reagent consumption, wide linear range, and good working performance, all of which meet the quality assurance and quality control requirements of water environment monitoring. It is suitable for the detection and analysis of batch cyanide water samples.
