Improvement of Formaldehyde Testing Method in Waterborne Coatings
Establish a simple, fast, and accurate method for the determination of formaldehyde in water-based coatings. This article uses an improved parallel synthesizer that can test three sets of six samples at once.Absorb the distilled formaldehyde with distilled water and determine it using acetylacetone spectrophotometer method.By using this method, the distillation time of the sample can be shortened from 60 minutes to 20 minutes, and three groups of six samples can be distilled in parallel at once. The operation is simple and the parallelism is high. The relative standard deviation of the method is 0~5%,and the recovery rate is 95%~105%.This method is easy to operate, fast, accurate, and efficient, with good analytical application prospects, and can meet the requirements of formaldehyde detection in large batches of coatings in the laboratory.
