Application of Nano Diamond Loaded Copper Based Catalyst in Selective Hydrogenation of Alkynes
Styrene is a raw material for various synthetic rubbers and polymer materials such as polystyrene. In practical production, styrene monomer inevitably contains phenylacetylene. However, the presence of phenylacetylene increases the amount of catalyst used in the styrene reaction, while also affecting the polymerization rate and product chain length. Therefore,it is necessary to remove phenylacetylene from styrene monomer through selective hydrogenation.Low loading nano diamond supported copper based catalysts Cu0.5%/ND and pre treated nano diamond supported copper based catalysts Cu0.5%/p-ND with the same low loading were prepared by impregnation method to remove phenylacetylene from styrene, and the catalysts were characterized by XRD.It is proved that the structure formed by pre-treatment of nanodiamonds works together with copper to improve the performance of the catalyst.
