Effect of PMMA on Scratch Resistance and Gloss of Polycarbonate Composites
In order to improve the scratch resistance of polycarbonate(PC)used for architectural decoration, polycarbonate(PC)was added with polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)to provide the material performance. The influence of PMMA on the scratch resistance and gloss of polycarbonate material was studied by means of experimental testing. The results show that when the amount of PMMA increases, the hardness of the material increases, the color difference value obtained by the cross scraping method increases first and then decreases, and the color fastness of the material decreases. When the number of frictions increases, the gloss of all materials decreases rapidly and then reaches a stable state.A method to improve the scratch resistance of PC/PMMA polymer material is also given. This research is helpful to improve the polymer properties of building decoration materials and lay a theoretical foundation for the subsequent chemical refining.
