Degradation of Methylene Blue by Zero Valent Iron Activated Sodium Persulfate
In this paper, the experimental study on degradation of MB dye by sodium persulfate activated with zero valent iron was carried out.Factors affecting MB degradation efficienct were disscussed, such as addition content of zero valent iron, concentration of sodium persulfate,pH value,as well as degradation temperature. The results showed the optimum conditions for the degradation of MB was the pH=3,2 mmol/L of zero valent iron and 2 mmol/L of the concentration of sodium persulfate.Under this operation condition, the MB with initial concentration of 10 mg/L can reach 99%at 25℃reacted for 10 min.Temperature on the reaction was not significant.Sulfate radical was main oxygen free radicals in reaction.
