Study on the Cadmium Passivation Effect of Palygorskite on Vegetable Field Soil
This study investigated the effects of palygorskite on soil pH,cadmium(Cd)bioavailability, and rapeseed yield through pot experiments. The results indicate that the application of palygorskite in soil can significantly reduce the absorption rate of available cadmium by rapeseed. After adding palygorskite passivator to the soil, the maximum decrease in cadmium content in plants reached 69.48%,and the minimum decrease also reached 14.59%.The biomass of rapeseed increased, with a maximum increase of 36.17%in the underground part and 14.02%in the aboveground part. The maximum decrease in available cadmium content in the soil was 20.80%,and the minimum decrease was 2.22%.As the concentration of palygorskite increases, the soil pH value slightly rises, with an increase ranging from 0.84%to 1.20%.Passivation agents significantly reduce the effective cadmium content in soil, with the most significant effect observed at a concentration of 20 g/kg soil.
