Characteristic Analysis of the Impact of Nitrate on the Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal Efficiency of Urban Sewage Treatment Plants
The enhanced biological phosphorus removal process has the advantages of flexible operation, sustainability, and good phosphorus removal effect. It has been widely used in urban sewage treatment plants and has become the primary choice for wastewater phosphorus removal. However, the presence of nitrate can affect the anaerobic phosphorus release process of polyphosphate accumulating bacteria in the activated sludge system, making it difficult for the enhanced biological phosphorus removal process to meet the Class IV surface water standard.Based on this, this article takes a sewage treatment plant in a certain city as an example, briefly describes the overview of the plant, and focuses on exploring the impact characteristics of nitrate on enhancing biological phosphorus removal efficiency, providing reference for the smooth operation of urban sewage treatment plants.
