Determination of Dichloroacetic Acid and Trichloroacetic Acid in Drinking Water by Gas Chromatography
According to The Standard Inspection Methods for Drinking Water Part 10:Disinfection by-product Index(GB/T 5750.10-2023),determination of dichloroacetic acid and trichloroacetic acid in drinking water by gas chromatography method was established. The samples were acidified with concentrated sulfuric acid, extracted with 1,2-dibromopropane as an internal standard substance, derivatized with a sulfuric acid-methanol solution, and then separated by an SE-30 capillary column, with detection by an electron capture detector. The results showed that both dichloroacetic acid and trichloroacetic acid had a good linear relationship within the range of 0~200 μg/L and 0~100 μg/L,with correlation coefficients R>0.998,whole detection limits of 0.9 μg/L,concentration limit of 2.7 μg/L,relative standard deviations between 1.2%~2.8%,DCAA and TCAA recovery rates respectively 95.7%~104%and 97.3%~104%.Conclusion:The study of dichloroacetic acid and trichloroacetic acid include:standard curve, detection limit, precision and accuracy of experimental data, whole are meet the standard method quality requirements, but found the experimental method cumbersome, not easy to operate, derivative time long shortcomings, such as laboratory based on this study, can continue to explore the optimization of dichloroacetic acid and trichloroacetic acid detection conditions, which has guiding significance.
