Determination of Heavy Metal Content in Cibotium Barometz Based on ICP-MS Method
Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS)was used to determine the content of harmful heavy metal elements in traditional Chinese medicine Cibotium barometz. After microwave digestion of traditional Chinese medicine samples, the contents of five heavy metal elements, copper(Cu),lead(Pb),arsenic(As),cadmium(Cd),and mercury(Hg),were tested using germanium, indium, and bismuth as internal standards. The research results indicate that five heavy metal elements(Pb As,Cd,Hg,and Cu)were detected in all samples and the linear relationship between element testing is good(r≥0.999 2).The RSD range is 2.2%to 5.4%.The content of five heavy metal elements in the medicinal herbs is within the range required by the national pharmacopoeia standards. It is suggested to add inspection items for the content of heavy metal elements in Cibotium barometz in the pharmacopoeia and improving its quality control methods.
