Study on the Effect of Calcination Seed Addition on the Quality of Titanium Dioxide Production
The effect of calcined seed crystal dosage on the quality of titanium dioxide was studied. In the production of titanium dioxide, the metatitanic acid filter cake is treated with a composite salt treatment agent, calcined seeds are added, and the calcination temperature is adjusted to prepare the initial titanium dioxide with a rutile content of 98%to 99%.The effect of the amount of calcined seeds on the quality of titanium dioxide is studied. The results showed that as the amount of calcined seed crystals increased, the required calcination temperature for qualified rutile showed a decreasing trend, and the addition of 4%to 6%had little effect on the temperature. As the amount of calcined seed crystals increases, the average particle size of the initial product decreases, and the dispersion coefficient is the smallest at 6%.The blue phase and color fading power of the composite treatment agent salt treated sample both change with the increase of seed crystal dosage, and the best color fading power is achieved at 5%.
