Research on the Preparation of Polymeric Ferric Sulfate from Concentrated Waste Acid and Ferrous Sulfate in the Production of Titanium Dioxide
In this study, concentrated waste acid and ferrous sulfate heptahydrate from titanium dioxide production were used as raw materials to prepare polymeric ferric sulfate(PFS)flocculant by catalytic oxidation method.Through systematic experimental research, the effects of material ratio, reaction temperature, catalyst NaNO2,and oxidant O2 dosage on PFS performance were investigated. The results showed that under the optimal process conditions of a material ratio of n(S042-)/n(Fe)of 1.20,a reaction temperature of 65 ℃,a NaNO2 addition of 0.4%,and an O2 addition of 0.7%,the PFS product exhibited excellent flocculation performance and stability. This process scheme realizes the resource utilization of waste acid and ferrous sulfate, reduces environmental pollution, and provides technical support for the industrial production of PFS.
