Reasons and Control Measures for High Ethylene Consumption in Gas-phase Fluidized Bed Polyethylene Process
The production process of gas-phase fluidized bed polyethylene mainly uses polymer grade ethylene as the main raw material,polymer grade 1-butene or 1-hexene as the comonomer,hydrogen as the molecular weight regulator,and operates under the conditions of temperature of 85~l10 ℃ and pressure of about 2 MPa through efficient catalysts.It is formed by a granulation system.This process produces linear low-density polyethylene due to the presence of side chains on its main chain,which reduces the crystallinity of the polyethylene.Compared with high-density polyethylene,it has better toughness.Compared with low-density polyethylene,it has better rigidity,tear resistance,and tensile strength.Its main application areas are injection molding,blown film,etc.This article mainly discusses the reasons for the high ethylene consumption in the gas-phase fluidized bed polyethylene process.By adjusting the process,the goal of reducing ethylene consumption can be achieved,which not only meets the requirements of energy conservation,emission reduction,and environmental protection,but also improves economic benefits.
