The Effect of Cl and Na on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy
The effects of Cl and Na on the microstructure and mechanical properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy were investigated by SEM and room temperature tensile tests. The results show that when AZ31 alloy contains trace amounts of elements such as Cl,Na,etc.,it will lead to a larger size of Al-Mn in AZ31 alloy, which makes the grain size of the alloy increase. In addition, elements such as Cl and Na are easily enriched around the second phase of Mg2Al3,which weakens the bonding force between grain boundaries, thus leading to cracks and making the alloy have low strength and poor plasticity.
