Analysis of the Causes of Defects in Axle Journals
The purpose of this article is to study and analyze the causes of defects in the axle journals of IDC35e materials category A and category B.By sampling the cross-section and fracture surface of typical defects, and using Axio Imager A2m metallographic microscope for microstructure observation and fracture analysis.Research shows that from the perspective of defect morphology, oxidized particles, decarburized layer, and nearby organizational characteristics, this defect has typical surface folding defect characteristics. This defect only occurs at the journal, and no defects are found on the wheel axle or axle body.It is judged that this defect is not inherent in the axle blank, but rather a forging folding generated during the axle forging process.
