Optimization of Iron Ore Powder Sintering Process-Analysis of Results Based on Sintering Experiments
In order to explore the performance improvement effect of the new iron ore powder sintering process pellet method on the traditional sintering process and the optimal raw material ratio, comparative experiments were conducted using the traditional process. The experiment shows that the optimal amount of coke powder and moisture content for the pellet process are 6.5%and 18.5%,respectively.In the performance comparison experiment, with all raw materials being iron ore A,the pellet process increased the yield by 20%compared to traditional processes and reduced the utilization index by 0.04 t/(m2·h),solid energy consumption reduced by 30.01 kg/t.In the performance comparison experiment with laterite nickel ore as the raw material, the pellet process has better sintering quality and energy consumption performance than the traditional sintering method. In the sintering results of iron ore A and laterite nickel ore,the sintered ore obtained by the pellet sintering process has a more uniform particle size, better metallurgical properties, reduction degrees of 0.855 and 0.963,and static low-temperature reduction pulverization indices of 0.653 and 0.959,respectively.Compared with traditional methods, the strength and metallurgical properties can be significantly improved. In summary, the pellet sintering process has significant advantages in improving the sintering performance of iron ore powder and can be applied to the production of iron ore powder and the improvement of metallurgical processes.
