Effect of Cold work on Ferrite content in Weld of 316L Stainless Steel
The ferrite content changes of weld metal before and after cold work treatment of 316L stainless steel welding test plate were studied by FeritScope FMP30 ferrite tester and metallographic secant method, and the factors affecting the ferrite content of weld metal were analyzed and discussed. The test results show that the average ferrite content of weld metal measured by ferrite meter before coiling is about 6.7%,and the average ferrite content of weld metal measured by metallographic secant method is 6.9%,which meets the technical requirements of 4%and 8%.The ferrite content of the weld metal is increased after coiling, and the ferrite content of the weld metal measured by the ferrite detector is higher than that measured by the metallographic secant method.
