Distribution Characteristics and Pollution Assessment of Heavy Metals in Steel Mills and Surrounding Soil
In order to further explore the heavy metal pollution caused by the production process of steel mills on the surrounding soil environment,a large steel mill in southern Shanxi and its surrounding farmland area were taken as the research object.Through sampling and experimental analysis, the soil heavy metal content in the area was preliminarily determined.Later,ARCGIS was used as an auxiliary tool to process the data and clarify the distribution characteristics of heavy metals in the steel mill and surrounding soil.On this basis, the potential ecological risk index method was further applied to evaluate the degree of soil heavy metal pollution in the target area. The results showed that the impact of Cd,Pb,and Cu,the three types of heavy metal elements, was most prominent and needed to be given special attention and treatment in subsequent work.
