Production Practice of Oxygen-enriched Calcination in the Maerz Kiln
Taking the Maerz lime kiln of a certain steel plant as the research object, based on its process characteristics, the production practice of enriched oxygen calcination is carried out from aspects such as lime output, gas consumption, lime quality, and exhaust gas emissions.Oxygen rich calcination can optimize production indicators, accelerate gas combustion rate, increase flame temperature, and enhance the radiation capacity inside the kiln. The practical results indicate that the enrichment of oxygen gas ψ(O2)is controlled at around 29%,which can achieve the best economic benefits.Compared with traditional combustion air calcination, oxygen enriched calcination can increase daily output by 75 t,reduce combustion air volume by 25%~35%,and save converter gas consumption by 35.92 m3/t,and reduce exhaust emissions by 19%.
