The Effect of Extrusion Speed on the Texture and Mechanical Properties of Mg-6Zn-0.5Gd Alloy
Mg-6Zn-0.5Gd alloy was obtained by metallurgical preparation method, and the effect of extrusion speed on its texture and mechanical properties was tested during hot extrusion deformation. The results show that after increasing the extrusion rate, the alloy structure undergoes dynamic recrystallization, and the texture strength of the alloy structure with randomly oriented grains decreases, forming fewer small angle grain boundaries within the alloy structure. At the same time,it also reduces the tensile strength and yield strength, obtaining greater elongation, and forming a large number of ductile dimples at the fracture surface, exhibiting plastic fracture characteristics.
