Expansion and Renovation of the Intermediate Tank of the Steel Metallurgy Billet Continuous Casting Machine
Through the research and analysis of the billet continuous casting machine in Xingang No.l Steel Plant,it was found that the intermediate tank has poor fluidity of the molten steel during the casting process due to its small capacity and narrow impact area. The steel slag cannot float up,and there are significant problems such as slag inclusion in the casting billet. In addition, there is often a phenomenon of piercing the tank in the impact area.In the case where the storage size of the intermediate tank remains unchanged, only by expanding the capacity of the intermediate frame can the floating of impurities be reduced and the quality of the casting billet be improved. In order to reduce the impact force of the molten steel on the wall of the intermediate tank,it is necessary to simultaneously expand the size of the impact area of the intermediate tank, thereby improving the service life of the entire intermediate tank.
