Optimization of Surface Quality of High Si Content Wear Resistant Steel Hot Rolled Strip
By analyzing the chemical composition, surface defect morphology, and characteristics of high Si content NM300 hot-rolled steel from HBIS Tangsteel,it is preliminarily inferred that the main reason for the formation of color difference on the surface of NM300 is the high Si content, which leads to the formation of iron olivine phase Fe2SiO4 during heating and rolling.By optimizing the heating time of the slab, the temperature and system of coarse rolling phosphorus removal, the thickness of the defect loose particle layer can be effectively controlled, which is conducive to the crack propagation to the substrate during descaling and impact, thereby completely removing surface quality defects.
