Research on the Process of Preparing Magnesia Sand by Calcination of Magnesium Hydroxide
The production process of high-purity magnesia sand was studied using high-purity magnesium hydroxide produced from salt lake magnesium resources as raw material.Focus on studying the effects of forming pressure, holding time, light burning temperature, light burning time, and magnesium oxide content on the density of green bodies during the preparation process.Study the effect of calcination temperature and time on particle density during high-temperature calcination process. The final optimal experimental conditions were determined as follows:magnesium oxide was obtained by lightly burning magnesium hydroxide at 900 ℃ for 3 hours, and the mass ratio of magnesium oxide to magnesium hydroxide was controlled at 1∶4.After mixing evenly, the sample was compressed at 600 MPa and kept under pressure for 5 minutes, and then calcined at 1 600 ℃ for 5 hours. The magnesium sand obtained under these conditions fully meets the requirements of the national standard.
