Numerical Simulation Analysis and Improved Design of a Continuous Spring Tempering Furnace
The flow field pattern and temperature uniformity inside a tempering furnace are closely related to the effectiveness of the tempering process.Fluent software was used to conduct numerical simulations of the flow field and temperature field within the furnace chamber of a continuous spring tempering furnace,analyzing both the flow field pattern and temperature uniformity.The qualitative and quantitative analysis results of the numerical simulations indicate that the gas flow within the equipment is relatively weak,resulting in minimal convective heat transfer and low temperature uniformity.Targeted improvements were made by arranging fans in an alternating left-right configuration,which led to an improvement in the flow field pattern inside the furnace and an enhancement in temperature uniformity.
