Experimental study on mechanical properties of desert sand concrete
The effects of different desert sand single admixtures,desert sand-slag powder compound admixtures and three admixtures of desert sand-slag powder-steel fiber on the compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of Desert Sand Concrete,DSC)are studied.The results show that with the increase of desert sand admixture,the compressive strength of concrete first increases and then decreases,and reaches the best state when the admixture is 20%.When the slag powder content is 20%,the strength of concrete is significantly improved;When the content of steel fiber is 0.8%,the improve-ment effect of compressive strength and splitting tensile strength is the most obvious.The addition of steel fiber from desert sand and slag powder can improve the pore structure of concrete,and the bridging effect of steel fiber can effectively pre-vent crack propagation,which is the most significant for strengthening the toughness of materials.
