Study on axial compressive properties of concrete-filled steel tubular short columns with joints
In order to improve the defect that the concrete-filled square steel tubular column is prone to buckling under stress, the author uses the slotted steel pipe instead of the full-length steel pipe to make relevant members and carry out axial compression members, and carries out axial pressure tests to study the mechanical properties of the two kinds of spec-imens.It is found that the steel pipe does not bear axial load and does not buckle after the joint is set. With the increase of the load, the steel pipe has obvious restraint effect on the core concrete, and the member B on the load displacement curve shows good ductility. The capacity of member B is slightly lower than that of member A.After the test,it is found that the core concrete is crushed and destroyed, but the crushed member can still bear the load under the constraint of the external steel pipe. The experimental results show that the steel pipe has a more obvious constraint effect on the core con-crete,which improves the stress characteristics of concrete.Under the constraint of the external steel pipe, the core con-crete not only has a further increase in the core bearing capacity but also shows a good ductility.
