With the continuous deepening of urbanization,the renewal of public space in old residential areas has become a major issue to be solved in urban development.In this study,the representative Lantong factory community in Lanzhou City is selected as the object.Based on the analysis method of space syntactics,the public space data of Lantongchang is ob-tained through field investigation,the community road axis model is constructed,and Depthmap software is used to deeply analyze the integration degree,selection degree and understandability of the community public space.It reveals the existing problems of public space and puts forward a series of suggestions on updating strategies from a new dimension,aiming at op-timizing the public space environment of old residential areas and improving the quality of life of community residents.
