Effect of reservoir level rise and fall on the deformation behavior of rockfill dams
After decades of use and natural wear and tear,a large number of rockfill dams built after the founding of the People's Republic of China have gradually increased the safety risks of the dam body.In order to effectively grasp the de-formation behavior of the dam under the action of retaining water bodies and guide the maintenance of existing dams. This study focuses on the existing rockfill dam of a reservoir in South China, and conducts settlement displacement monitoring, horizontal displacement monitoring, and water level monitoring on typical parts of the dam body.Research has shown that the settlement displacement of the downstream side of the dam is negatively correlated with the water level, while the hori-zontal displacement is positively correlated with the water level; The settlement and horizontal displacement characteristics of the dam body are that the deformation in the middle of the dam body is greater than that on both sides, and the deforma-tion at the top of the dam is the largest; The difference in geological conditions of the dam shoulder can lead to horizontal displacement differences in different parts of the dam body, posing a threat to the safety of the dam body. This research a-chievement has important reference and guiding significance for the governance and maintenance of existing rockfill dams.
