Analysis and research on the bending capacity of H-beam with multiple holes in the web plate
In engineering design, allowing various equipment pipelines to pass through the web of H-beam steel can fully utilize building clearance, reduce building height, and save construction costs. This measure has been widely applied in steel structure design both domestically and internationally.Especially, the situation of opening multiple holes in the steel beam web is becoming increasingly frequent. To investigate the mechanical properties of H-beam with web openings, this paper establishes a model using finite element software to calculate and analyze the effects of opening size, location, shape, and stiffening plate on the bearing capacity of H-beam,and summarizes the variation and development patterns. The finite element calculation results indicate that the width, height, shape of the opening, and stiffening rib all have cer-tain impacts on the bearing capacity of H-beam.
