Geological characteristics and correlation of minable coal seams in Changcheng No.6 mine field of Shanghaimiao mining area
Changcheng No.6 minefield of Shanghaimiao mining area is located in the northwest edge of Ordos Basin, which contains rich coal resources. We study the geological characteristics of minable coal seams, lithologic marker beds and log-ging curves to make a comparative analysis of the minable coal seams. The coal-bearing series in Changcheng No.6 mine-field from top to bottom are mainly the Carboniferous-Permian Shanxi Formation and Taiyuan Formation. The minable coal seams in the minefield are divided into coal seams of 1,3-1,3-2,5-1,5-2,9-1,9-2 and 10.The thickness of the coal seams changes little, the structure is simple, and the coal seam spacing is stable, which can be compared in the whole mine-field.There are three stable marker beds in Changcheng No.6 minefield, including K0 claystone,K,argillaceous limestone and K2 argillaceous limestone from top to bottom.K0 claystone is the marker bed at the top of coal seam 1 and a reliable marker bed in the minefield;K1 argillaceous limestone is the direct or indirect roof of coal seam 7,and it is also the marker bed to distinguish Shanxi Formation and Taiyuan Formation, which is widely distributed in the whole study area;K2 argilla-ceous limestone is distributed in the whole area and is the direct or indirect roof of coal seam 9.In addition, the sandstone at the top of coal seam 3 and the sandstone at the top of coal seam 8 can also be used as auxiliary marker beds in Changcheng No.6 minefield. The three lateral resistivity curves, long source distance gamma-gamma curves and nat-ural gamma curves of coal seams 1,5 and 9 in the minefield have obvious changes, which can be used as an important basis for coal seam correlation. The geological characteristics of minable coal seams, lithologic marker beds and logging curves are mutually verified, which further improves the reliability of coal seam correlation.
