Study on Groundwater Pollution Transport of a Steel Plant Based on GMS
The process of iron and steel smelting is complicated. If the pollution produced in the smelting process is leaked directly without treatment,it will penetrate into the aquifer through the aeration zone and pose a threat to the quality of groundwater. In order to investigate the movement of pollutants in groundwater,a steel factory was taken as the research area, and the corresponding groundwater mathematical model was constructed by using GMS software.1,2-dichloroethane,petroleum hydrocarbons, benzene and naphthalene were selected as typical pollutants in the study area, and the migration process of typical pollutants in the study area was predicted. The results show that typical pollutants migrate downstream with the flow of groundwater in the study area, and their concentrations decrease over time.At the end of the simulation period(30 a),the highest concentrations of 1,2-dichloroethane,petroleum hydrocarbons and benzene in the study area were 1.52 mg/L,11.16mg/L and 3.55 mg/L,respectively,and the concentration of naphthalene in the study area was lower than the remediation target value. Its pollution plume has not yet affected the Nanfei River, the southern boundary of the study area.
