Curative effect of Shengqing Jiangzhuo decoction combined with routine western medicine and its influences on non-motor symptoms in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease
Objective:To explore the curative effect of Shengqing Jiangzhuo decoction combined with routine western medicine and its influences on non-motor symptoms in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease(qi-deficien-cy phlegm stasis syndrome).Methods:A total of 90 elderly patients with Parkinson's disease were divided into Shengqing Jiangzhuo group(n=45,Shengqing Jiangzhuo decoction+routine western medicine)and western medi-cine group(n=45,routine western medicine).All patients were treated for 1 month.The scores of TCM syndromes,Parkinson's disease symptoms[Unified-Parkinson Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)],non-motor symptoms[non-mo-tor symptom scale(NMSS)],quality of life[Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire(PDQ)]and adverse reactions[Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS)]in the two groups were recorded before and after treatment.Results:After treatment,scores of TCM syndromes in Shengqing Jiangzhuo group were lower than those in western medicine group(P<0.05),scores of UPDRS,NMSS and PDQ were lower than those in western medicine group(P<0.05).During treatment,TESS score in Shengqing Jiangzhuo group was lower than that in western medicine group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Shengqing Jiangzhuo decoction combined with routine western medicine can improve TCM syn-dromes,non-motor symptoms and quality of life,and reduce adverse reactions in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease of qi-deficiency phlegm stasis syndrome.
