This paper introduces the academic thoughts and clinical application of Professor ZHAO Lihua in treating related diseases before and after menopause.Based on the holistic concept of traditional Chinese medicine and the theory of constitution,Professor ZHAO Lihua put forward the theory of"identifying the constitution prone to diseases,regulating the constitution to prevent and treat menopausal diseases".Starting from the three zang-organs of spleen,kidney and liver,an integrated acupuncture and moxibustion therapy with the treatment principle of"regula-ting both the congenital and the acquired,strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney to benefit the marrow,nour-ishing the blood and softening the liver"is formed.And a group of main acupoints for treating premenopausal and postm-enopausal syndromes are summarized:Baihui,Guanyuan,Zusanli,and Sanyinjiao,which are applied in clinical practice.
