Because of the negative phenomena such as broken arc,wire jacking,up-burning during the arc initiation welding of melting pole pulse gas shielded welding,as well as the problem of size difference of balls formed by the welding wire backfiring during arc retraction stage at the end of welding,control technology of arc initiation and arc retraction in pulse gas shielded welding was thus studied.Control method that makes the output energy of welding power supply consistent with wire feeding control was adopted in the arc initiation stage,which makes the arc starting smooth and has high repeatability.Except for the matching of wire feeding speed with current,voltage and other parameters,it is also necessary to adjust the number of output pulses to ensure the size uniform of welding wire fuse balls after welding.The control technology of arc initiation and arc retraction studied had been verified by actual welding,and can also be used in the welding of carbon steel,stainless steel,aluminum and other materials,demonstrating high universality.
