A busbar short-circuit fault occurred when the 6 kV side circuit breaker of the main transformer was disconnected at a 35 kV step-down substation in an oilfield.On-site inspection was conducted to assess the preventive testing,and the configuration and verification of the main transformer protection.The fault development process was then analyzed,and corrective measure was proposed.
