In response to the current shortcomings in the systematic design of science games within China, this research conducts an analysis of the status quo concerning Basic Psychological Needs Theory and the MDA game design framework. An integrated BPNT-MDA model is developed, summarizing the characteristics of intangible cultural heritage science games focused on craftsmanship. The study introduces a VR science game design methodology for skill-based intangible cultural heritage, addressing two dimensions:authenticity and entertainment in science communication.By analyzing the current state and needs of the skill-based intangible cultural heritage of Qingke brewing and using it as a case study for design practice, the feasibility of the integrated model and design methodology is verified. This aims to provide new perspectives and a theoretical framework reference for the digital preservation and dissemination of other skill-based intangible cultural heritages.
