This paper aims to explore the application of Xiangxi Nuo mask art elements in Chinese chess.The character characteristics of Nuo mask characters and Chinese chess pieces are analyzed respectively,and the shape,color and decorative elements of Nuo masks are refined,and seven Nuo mask characters and seven chess characters are selected for positioning and matching.The character image is redesigned with the elements of the times,and finally presents a brand new Nuo chess.In order to break the tradition,improve the creativity of chess itself,discover the young consumer groups lost by chess,make a positive contribution to the protection and promotion of the Nuo culture in western Hunan,integrate traditional culture into life,and further promote modern people's understanding of rare and precious traditional culture and learn.
