YUAN BLUE AND WHITE AUXILIARY PATTERN EXTRACTION AND DESIGN APPLICATION
In the process of design transformation of Yuan dynasty blue and white auxiliary decorations,a design method based on expandable semantics and shape grammar is proposed to address the uncertainty of shape-meaning matching as well as the tendency to ignore the original cultural connotations when re-designing motifs. To collect the samples of Yuan dynasty blue and white auxiliary decoration, screen the key vocabulary and establish a quantitative model to reveal the connection between the motifs and the cultural meanings.By calculating the semantic extension space of key words, the cultural depth and value are evaluated, and the best representation and core meaning are determined.A new design is derived by using shape grammar and selected patterns, and its shape-meaning fit is tested and evaluated by graphic semantics.Through scoring calculation, the coin pattern in the Yuan blue and white auxiliary decoration was ultimately selected as the object of innovative design and applied for design and evaluation. The use of Expandable Semantics and Shape Grammar proves its effectiveness in the innovative design of Yuan Qing Hua auxiliary motifs, providing an important reference method for the inheritance and development of Yuan Qing Hua auxiliary motifs.
